Details: | SUMMARY: Copper Action Level Exceeded 11/30/2005 DETAILS: Jeff called 12/8/2005 to report that the Triangle Lake High/Elem. Exceeded the Copper Action Level with a 90th Percentile of 2.07 mg/L. pH was at 7.4 when the samples were collected. Jeff did use some new sample sites because sites used by the previous operator were not all typical drinking water locations (janitor closets, etc.). We also discussed plumbing changes completed since the last l/c samples were collected in 2001. The plumbing changes included the pump house storage tank manifolds changed to pvc and faucet replacement at the Kitchen Sink South (which exceed copper), Room 12/Special Ed (which was below the action level) and the Janitors Closet (which was not re-sampled). At this point, I recommended Jeff raise the pH into the high 7s, let the pH stabilize for a few weeks and re-sample the high sites (HS Room 16 for lead/copper and Cafeteria Drinking Fountain and Kitchen Sink South for copper). I also put him in touch with Sharron Ward at the South Lane School District to find out information on low copper/brass/lead faucets to consider changing out the high sites. ACTION NEEDED: Jeff will call with the results of his re-samples and will update me with any plumbing replacement plans. This should be accomplished by the end of January 2006. |
