| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive total coliform routine and repeat samples for 1st quarter 2006. DETAILS: Carolyn called me 3/3/2006 after being referred by her lab. A routine coliform sample was collected 1/9/2006 and was positive for total coliform (absent e. coli). Stutzman Services shock chlorinated the system in late January, but the customers were not notified and likely did not flush their taps properly. As per Dan Morenos instructions, four repeat samples were collected 2/23/2006. The well and the original positive site were absent for coliform while the upstream and downstream samples were positive for total coliform. Carolyn was not sure what to do next. I faxed her the public notice template, instructions and coliform fact sheet. I instructed her to shock chlorinate again and notify all customers of what to do to help in the process. After the chlorine is out of the system and a minimum of 1 week after shock chlorination, I instructed her to collect five routine samples spread out over the rest of the month of March. Carolyn will contact Dan Moreno with any further questions and will fax a copy of the public notice back to me for credit for posting. ACTION NEEDED: Dan Moreno to follow-up after five routines are collected in March. | ||
