| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive total coliform routine and repeat sample for April 2006. DETAILS: I received an alert on 5/2/2006 for a positive total coliform routine sample collected 4/27/2006. I contacted Tim Whalen on 5/3/2006 who reported that four repeat samples were collected from various sinks in the mens and womens restroom on 5/2/2006. On 5/4/2006, Tim reported that one out of the four repeat samples was positive again for total coliform and that the sample location for the positive repeat was different than the location for the positive routine sample. There has been no work done on the system recently and no explanation for the positive samples. I instructed Tim to shock chlorinate the system, wait at least a week for the chlorine to be out and begin sampling the required 5 routines for May. I also instructed Tim to post public notice until he gets absent routine samples after shock chlorination. Amy Parmenter faxed a coliform fact sheet with shock chlorination instructions and public notice template and instructions to Tim on 5/4/2006. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of five routine samples for May. Obtain copy of completed public notice. | ||
