| Details: | SUMMARY: 5 positive total coliform routine samples DETAILS: I received an alert for 5 total coliform positive routine samples collected on 7/12/06, none of which were source samples. I contacted Lohn Leaton on 7/14/06. After talking with Gary Burnett, I made the following recommendations to John: Take a sample at each of the wells in use as soon as possible, try to locate the problem in the system, and while doing so chlorinate the water in the storage tanks to a concentration of 2 ppm, take another sample in the distribution system by the end of the month take 5 routine samples in August, issue public notice within 30 days. John said he would test the wells next week and perform the other tasks as recommended. John said the system had been having some underground pipe failures but that theres no way to know where until they blow completely. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of the source samples. | ||
