Details: | SUMMARY: likely TC+ MCL violation DETAILS: John called about the second TC+ they had in the system last Friday. Both it and the previous TC+ earlier this month were from the high service area, served by Reservoir #3 (open). The samples were geographically far apart however. They are perplexed as to the cause of the problem. They will look into a possible biofilm problem. The chlorine residual at both sites was over 1.0 ppm when they got the positive. No other problems were known to have occurred. I mentioned that if they took over 40 samples (41), then 2 TC+ samples would be ok, as long as they didnt get a third. He said they have taken several special samples (analyzed by their un-certified lab) and at least one was also positive, so he doesnt think that is a very good option for them. I mentioned he could get help determining if they have a biofilm problem from our circuit riders, HBH. He says the City is doing what they can to figure it out. He was pretty sure theyd move forward with the public notice but would let me know if they take another route. ACTION NEEDED: John will send in a copy of the public notice. |
