Details: | SUMMARY: WTP Investigation and Funding Assistance DETAILS: Contacted by Board Member Richard Crandall. They are experiencing water shortages, and plant is at maximum capacity. They had prepared a Letter of Interest to attempt to obtain funding to construct a plant upgrade but did not rank high enough. Plant is only capable of producing 45 gpm to serve 150 people. If plant flows are increased, turbidity problems occur. Plant is also deteriorated and past its design life. Asked for assistance in evaluating what they need to do, how much it might cost, and for help in obtaining loan assistance through the SDWLF. Actions Performed: Site visit to plant to inspect treatment equipment and intake. Took building measurements to determine how new equipment might be installed. Discussed treatment ent needs and raw water parameters with Ted Dykstra. Later, continued to correspond and receive equipment and cost data from equipment manufacturers. ACTION NEEDED: Asked by Richard Crandall and Ted Kykstra to attend Board Meeting on November 21, 2006 to explain the deteriorated condition of the plant to the Board and the need to maintain the equipment and plan properly for the future. Need to finish report summarizing basic needs, deficiencies, and budget to be used for funding assistance requests. |
