Details: | SUMMARY: Redwood Tank Circulation System DETAILS: I have reviewed the Liquidvision Video of the first tank cleaning and inspection performed in June 1999. The video confirms the proximity of the inflow outflow piping and the presumed short circuiting due to the failure of the inflow structure. Myles forwarded a drawing of a concept for a circulation structure to replace the inflow piping. The pipe will fasten to the floor flange with a restrain joint to 4” sch 80 PVC 6’ above the level of the outflow to a tee with opposing elbows creating a counter clockwise circulation pattern. The above maintenance and installation of the circulation structure will require the Redwood tank to be out of service. The residence normally served from the Redwood tank could be served from the Cement storage tank, however there are elevation differences to consider that could potentially cause excesses in distribution system service pressure. The district asset elevation and coordinate location information provided by Myles from Geomax indicate as much as a 30 psi difference between the two systems when the tanks are full. I advised Myles to request a copy of a full size legible drawing from Geomax for our mutual review prior to making a decision on the placement of a pressure regulator.
