Details: | SUMMARY: This CWS was referred to the Circuit Rider program for assistance with the developing and adopting of an enabling authority for cross connection control DETAILS: This CWS serves a combination RV and mobile home park with 90 connections and a population of approximately 175. Water is supplied by 2 wells, and there are 4 small pressure tanks on the system. Irrigation water in the park is supplied by a canal, but there is no physical connection between canal water and domestic water. The park has no written enabling authority (EA) for cross connection control (CCC).Contacted Dale Sievert, park manager and certified operator of this system. Discussed the need for EA. Made appointment to meet and review the CCC program and EA. Modified example EA for the park and printed a copy along with a sample cover letter for submission to the state drinking water program (DWP).Met with Sievert at the system. Sievert stated that there are no known cross connections or testable backflow devices in the park. We discussed uses of outside faucets. There are only three faucets in the park, and Sievert plans to install a hose bibb vacuum breaker on each. Discussed the annual summary report (ASR). Sievert thinks that the owner does that. Sievert agreed to sign and submit a copy of the EA to the DWP. He will also check with the owner to make sure the ASR was submitted. ACTION NEEDED: Sievert needs to adopt the EA and submit a copy to the DWP. Needs to check on the ASR for 2006 to make sure it was submitted. |
