Details: | SUMMARY: Fecal positive response DETAILS: I called Ed because we received a fax from the lab that their sample 6/4 was TC+FC+. It was taken from the Metolius area from a kitchen tap with a swivel faucet. They collected repeats first thing this morning, 6/7. They collected two at each site, one to use the ColiLert process, and another for the membrane filtration method. Then they immediately began chlorinating the tanks through the PPG erosion chlorinators (or dropping in tablets if they didnt have the PPGs set up) and flushing. A repeat was not collected at the original sample site, but at the hose bib in the same house. A special sample may have been taken, Ed will have to check. I suggested that one be taken, in case we need to invalidate the sample and site (in case both come back FC+ and no others do). Ed cannot think of any problems theyve been having in the system. They did put in some new 24" main line, which was sampled, flushed for 2 weeks, all fine, then some really hot weather, but that shouldnt cause a FC+. We discussed the possibility of a boil water notice. I told him we would evaluate whether the bad water is still in the system. He asked if itd be all zones or just the affected zones, and I said we would evaluate how the system works and the public health risk. ACTION NEEDED: await repeat results (Friday afternoon). |
