Details: | SUMMARY: Cross connection enabling authority DETAILS: HBH Consulting Engineers Inc., representing the ODHS-DWP circuit rider program, received notice that (system) did not have a current Enabling Authority on file with the Drinking Water Program. Doug is relatively new as manager of the estates. A drawing of the park showing the roads and lots with utilities and water line showed few valves for shut offs and no marked backflow devices. We reviewed the OARs 333-061-0070 cross connection control requirements as they relate to the enabling authority. I also had a copy of the annual summary report for his review. Doug indicated the need to revisit to present everything to his wife who would be the one to do the paperwork for the park. Although the systems are managed by the same couple they are totally different, from source water to distribution systems. The systems are not connected and therefore have individual circumstances and issues to be addressed by the cross connections ordinance. We discussed water quality testing and microbiological analysis requirements for the parks. Doug was interested in the additional technical assistance available through the circuit rider program. I wrote down the web site address for the Drinking Water Program for Dougs wife to use prior to our next visit. ACTION NEEDED: Schedule follow-up visit after normal working hours to meet with both Doug and his wife. |
