Details: | SUMMARY: CWS referred for assistance with cross connection enabling authority DETAILS: This CWS serves a mobile home park with 40 service connections and a population of approx. 85. There are two active wells that supply the system through one entry point. According to Mr. Chamberlain, all outside faucets have been fitted with hose bibb vacuum breakers, but there are no testable assemblies in the park. There is also no written enabling authority (EA) for this system. I called Mr. Chamberlain to determine what is needed and offered assistance with the EA. I then modified the example EA to fit the needs of this system. Prepared a draft of a cover letter that can be used for submittal of the written EA (copy attached). These were both printed on hard copy and burned onto a CD. Also, printed a copy of the annual summary report. I then met with both Chuck and Eric Chamberlain at the park to review the documents and the requirements for submittal to the state DWP. Provided the CD with the documents in case they need to modify them in any way before using them. We discussed the possibility of doing a survey. Mr. Chamberlain said that he would include information on the new cross connection control policy in their next monthly newsletter to the tenants. ACTION NEEDED: Park manager or owner needs to adopt the enabling authority and submit a copy to the state along with the recommended cover letter. By March 30, they also need to submit the annual summary report. |
