Details: | SUMMARY: Increase Monitoring for Toluene DETAILS: The May 2nd monitoring for Volatile Organic Chemicals shows a detection of Toluene in Well #1. Columbia City will need to monitor a minimum of two quarterly samples for Toluene in Well #1 starting July 1st, 2007. The first quarter would be between July 1st & September 30th. The second quarter would be between October 1st and December 31st. If these two quarterly samples show that Toluene is reliably and consistently below the minimum contaminant level, the Drinking Water Program may reduce the monitoring frequency to a year. When monitoring annually for this contaminant, Columbia City must monitor during the quarter that previously yielded the highest analytical result. Our office is currently having problems with the SDWIS database. The sampling schedule at the following link may not show this quarterly monitoring requirement for Toluene. We are working to resolve this issue in SDWIS.http://170.104.158.45/scheduleschems.php3?pwsno=00203 ACTION NEEDED: Review results in January of 2008 to see if the DWP can approve a reduction in monitoring for Toluene. | ||
