Details: | SUMMARY: Continued research on districts plan to relocate existing hypochlorite injection system DETAILS: Lamontai Improvement District is a groundwater system with multiple wells that pump to a common intermediate tank which then pumps water to the distribution system and main storage tank based on a level signal from the main tank. Water is currently chlorinated at one well in order to provide a residual within the overall system. Because multiple wells provide water to the system, it is difficult to maintain a consistent chlorine dose. Mr. Butner has developed a plan to relocate the existing sodium hypochlorite injection equipment in order to improve dosing control. He contacted HBH Consulting Engineers to ask if we could review the plan prior to submission to the DWP. Contacted Amy Parmenter with the Drinking Water Program to discuss pros and cons of the proposed plan to relocate the disinfection system. Also discussed layout and mechanics of the rest of the water system. Worked on engineering review letter. ACTION NEEDED: Complete review letter and recommendations for disinfection system. |
