Details: | SUMMARY: Equipment calibration NTU meter 2100N DETAILS: Lawson Acres appeared on a list of SW region water treatment plants requiring various levels of assistance. I called Lawson Acres specifically to discuss scheduling a turbidity profile. The operator indicated that a recent episode of low power at the treatment plant required recalibration of the turbidimeter. Since the recalibration the readings have been off. They pulled out an old analog meter and have been using it for several weeks. The response from HACH was to send in the 2100N and we will take a look at it. I had to read the calibration procedure to reacquaint myself with the process before attempting a calibration. After the second run-through with no change I went back to the manual. In an obscure note just prior to the calibration procedure I found a statement that mentions the retention of previous calibration data and the need to zero the meters memory prior to calibration. A simple key stroke is required to zero the meter. The digital display reads double zero. A five point calibration was accomplished, this time by the operator. I suggested they run for a month using the instrument prior to our scheduling a visit to perform a turbidity profile. ACTION NEEDED: Schedule turbidity profile. |
