Details: | SUMMARY: low pressure parts of system DETAILS: It was reported on the radio that there was low water pressure in Canby, so I gave them a call. Mike Greene, contract operator through Veolia water, said that last night a car hit a power pole, disrupting power to the pumps that pump water out of the plant. The generator did not kick on and they are investigating why. The pumps at the reservoirs in the distribution were still operational, so there was always positive pressure in the system, though it dropped to 13 psi at the lowest spot. This occurred in the very early morning and was resolved at 7 am. By 8 am pressure was restored to 70 psi. Mike is very aware of the importance of maintaining positive pressure and would have called us prepared to boil if they lost water entirely. I asked him to give us a call if an event ever hits the media. ACTION NEEDED: none. |
