Details: SUMMARY: Iron and manganese treatment options tech report DETAILS: PWS has had difficulties maintaining chlorine residuals in the system. Chlorine residuals also degrade quickly and on many occasions are non detect (ND), which creates alerts in the DWP database. The MHP manager requested information on various treatment options. Source water levels of iron and manganese are 0.516 mg/L and 0.318 mg/L respectively. A sand filtration system is installed, but little is known about it nor is it serviced. The high levels of iron and manganese are most likely interfering with maintaining consistent chlorine residuals. ACTION NEEDED: Prepared report detailing most common treatment options.
