Details: | SUMMARY: Request for competitive chemical supplier and training prior to certification exam. DETAILS: System perceived poor quality coagulant received from supplier. I have spoken to the chemical supplier about what was perceived as an inferior product received by the system. Unfortunately the product was received by someone unaware of the receiving protocol and apparently put on line without an MSDS in hand. It is not clear that a protocol ever existed prior to this error, there is one now. The shipper is required to have an MSDS on board as well as the product drum should have one in sealed plastic either on the side or more likely on the lid of all 55 gallon drums of chemicals shipped. Several of the smaller plants in the area use the same PAC Coagulant provided by the same supplier. I will provide Cindy with a least three other suppliers that have similar products. I got called by Pat indicating the 1720C was not recording a signal to the chart recorder and the 1720C had a System Warning light that could not be cancelled. I responded to find the dip switches which control the output to the chart recorder worn down and unable to be toggled. Pat indicated they had planned on replacing the 1720C which HACH 17020E. HACH no longer supports to C model and has not for some time. Pat agreed to put the 1720E order on fast track and to do some grab sampling in the interim. ACTION NEEDED: A CT Tracer Study is scheduled for the end of August. Provide Cindy with training opportunities. |
