Details:	SUMMARY: SNC investigation DETAILS: I talked to Luis Rios this afternoon, the operator of the water system at Oregon Berry Packing. I have ccd Luis on this email so that we all have the same information. Luis has agreed to take a nitrate sample from each of the four wells in November after we have had some rain. Once the nitrate results are available, we will determine what to do next. Luis has also agreed to start chlorinating again - the chlorine was turned off due to the lack of contact time. The 3rd quarter coliform sampling has already been done and should arrive at DWP anytime now, so in October, Luis agreed to sample for coliform from each of the four wells and mark these samples as "special". Additionally, the 4th quarter routine sample will be pulled from the cannery after chlorination and he will test for residual chlorine at the time the sample is pulled and the residual will be recorded on the lab sheet. We should probably touch base after the special and routine samples have been collected to determine plan of action. When Luis and I talked yesterday he said that the firm is still considering the use of UV. Kari also reminded Susan to ask Luis to send in the Nitrate results that he took so that we have record of low nitrate after the high one. ACTION NEEDED: discussion is being held on proceeding with formal enforcement or waiting to see if informal enforcement works.
