Details: | SUMMARY: DBP exceedance in 3rd quarter 2007. DETAILS: Jeff Houchin from OMI/Monroe emailed me regarding his compliance with DBPs (both stage 1 and 2). He was informed by Wendy Marshall at EPA that Monroe exceeded the 3rd quarter 2007 DBP sample and should have been monitoring quarterly thereafter. Jeff was not aware of this and thought they were on an annual schedule as shown in SDWIS. I checked the database and found that an alert was generated regarding the DBP(TTHM) exceedance in September 2007. I emailed Benton County and found they had no record of the alert. At this point, Monroe needs to begin sampling quarterly and cannot make up the 4th quarter 2007 or the 1st quarter 2008. They will stay on quarterly sampling until the new plant is on-line and eligible for a sampling reduction. Compliance will be based on the running annual average. ACTION NEEDED: Updated sdwis to show the quarterly DBP schedule beginning 10/1/2007. KK. I also emailed Jeff on 5/13 the full sampling schedule for Monroe once the new plant is on-line. |
