Details: | SUMMARY: Water Qulity Parameter Monitoring DETAILS: From letter to Neil Shepperd dated 7/9/08: Since sodium hydroxide (caustic) is used as corrosion control treatment for compliance with the Lead and Copper Rule, pH must be sampled every two weeks at each entry point in use. Alkalinity and pH must be measured at 7 sites in the distribution system (typically at coliform sampling sites) every three years at the time lead and copper tap samples are taken. A minimum pH of 7.2 has been set for both the entry point and the distribution system, such that any results less than this would be considered an excursion (up to 9 excursions are allowed in a 6-month period). ACTION NEEDED: Sample for pH and alkalinity as prescribed in letter and maintain a minimum pH of 7.2. |
