| Details: | SUMMARY: TC MCL Violation for August DETAILS: Erica called. Three of the repeat samples tested TC positive. A sample collected at the wellhead tested TC absent. Erica suspects the problem is due to conditions in the storage reservoir. Some colored or turbid water was flushed through the reservoir drain. Staff had recently removed a bird that had become lodged in a gap of the reservoirs vent screen. There was, however, no evidence that any animals had gained full access to the reservoir. Staff has isolated the reservoir from the rest of the system. Reviewed dosage required to chlorinate the reservoir to 10 mg/L. The system will use 5 gallons of 15% solution to chlorinate the 75,000 gallon tank, then drain and flush it out. Reviewed public notice requirements. ACTION NEEDED: PWS to issue public notice, chlorinate and flush reservoir, collect additional follow up samples, collect five routine samples in September. | ||
