Details: | SUMMARY: Plan Review discussion for switch to UV disinfection DETAILS: Received a call from West Lane Plumbing, who is about to send off the PR Packet to the Portland office to install UV disinfection in place of chlorination at the Sea Lion Caves. To bring myself up to speed, I spoke to Steve Saubert at Sea Lion Caves. He explained he is going to the UV unit because their water usage rate varies so much between summer and winter, and the chlorine can dissipate and decline in periods of low use. The UV unit will just be more consistent with less tinkering. He is also going to install an automatically starting generator so their periodic brown outs do not affect drinking water safety. Dominic at West Lane Plumbing was just having a heard time finding the millejoule information on their proposed unit, in the Trojan Pro series. He will hear back from the manufacturer and document its millejoule strength before sending the PR packet to Portland. Sea Lion Caves will retain the chlorination equipment as a back up system. ACTION NEEDED: Await receipt of PR submittal |
