Details: SUMMARY: Positive total coliform DETAILS: Carl called to report that he called the lab to find out the results of five 1/12/08 samples and found out that they were all positive. He wasnt sure what they were positive for. He wondered why the lab didnt call sooner with the results. I told him I would call lab. Maria at Water lab said that all of the samples were sent in as specials. She said that labs are not required to report specials. I asked lab to change the sample type designation to routine and they said they can only change the designation if requested by Joe Carlson or Michelle VanKleeck. I called Michelle today and asked if she could write a letter to lab and she said Carl will have to send email or letter explaining what happened and then the state can change the designation after they get results from lab. I gave Carl Michelles email and asked him to send the request. I also asked Carl to update the public notice with recent results and send Linn County a copy and inform the residents what the next step is. I informed Carl about the Circuit Rider Program and he was interested in getting help to figure this issue out. He will stop by the office and pick up a brochure and drop off the most recent lab slips this afternoon. ACTION NEEDED: none
