Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water Notice - Follow Up DETAILS: Janet called on 8/24/09 to express concern that the boil water notice posted in early August due to loss of system pressure has not reached all residents and businesses. She also indicated that her mother in-law had stomach issues and cold sores, she thought possibly due to the water. I followed up with Erica Jo Anderson of Christmas Valley on 8/25/09. Erica mentioned that she had posted notices throughout town, made phone calls, immediately after loss of system pressure in early Aug. Erica also indicated that power restored, system flushed, system pressure restored. Four samples taken on 8/21/09 after flushing. Three came back coliform absent, one TC+ on 8/24/09. System finished with cut-ins to main line, from now on only will be tying in lines, which will require local line isolation, rather than system shut-down. I left a message for Janet on 8/25 that Erica indicated that boil notice was distributed widely to attempt to reach all users, and still is in effect. ACTION NEEDED: Erica will take 3 more samples today, in area of 8/21 positive, before consulting w/ DWP to consider lifting boil notice. Erica to fax all special coliform results to DWP. Erica to notify restaurant that may not be following boil notice, today. DWP to review results of special coliform samples and provide support, especially if follow-up complaints are received. |
