Details: | SUMMARY: Midge fly incident DETAILS: On the morning of 9/15, the DWP received a report of media coverage of "fly larvae" in Woodburn tap water. I called and spoke with Randy Scott, he said that a resident alerted them of the problem late Sunday 9/13 and in response they began an aggressive flushing program in that area on the morning of Monday 9/14. Randy indicated that the problem seemed to be isolated near the Country Club EP-A site, so they took the site off-line and also drained and cleaned the reservoir at that location. They plan to fill and inspect the reservoir prior to returning it to service. According to Randy, this event occurred in the same general area of the system as it did last fall (the Senior Estates area), just a little farther south. Randy sent me a copy of the press release that was set to go out in the Wednesday edition of the Woodburn Independent. ACTION NEEDED: No further action needed at this time. Will continue to monitor the situation and respond as needed. |
