| Details: | SUMMARY: Meeting with agency officials DETAILS: Met with USFS and ODOT. Coliform sample submitted over the last two weeks had produced fecal positive results after chlorination. The samples had been submitted to the lab as special. USFS wanted monthly testing during the time that the work station was staffed and quarterly the remainder of each year as per the ODOT/USFS lease agreement. A tour of the recent construction produced several issues related to contractor work that may account for the difficulty with recent tests. The consensus was that either some wildlife was currently lodged in the system or leaking pipes or both may be causing positive tests. I requested all follow up samples be submitted as repeat so that they are on record and can be tracked. The chlorination level was to be increased to 25ppm or more as needed to achieve clean up. The contractor will be recalled to the site if needed. Because a chlorinator was installed at the well house on a just in case basis, a plan review of that portion of the new construction should be done which I mentioned to Bill Goss by phone. Anderson Perry from LaGrande did the design of the construction to the system. ACTION NEEDED: Stay in contact and be aware of further test results. | ||
