Details: SUMMARY: Positive total coliform routine sample collected 9/29/09 DETAILS: An individual from West Lane Plumbing called today to report a positive total coliform routine sample collected from a residence served by the Alderwood Second Addition. This public water system has contracted with West Lane Plumbing to manage the operation of the system. This sample, collected 9/29/09, is the first coliform sample collected for this system since May of 2009. The caller reported that the redwood tank has been replaced with a black plastic storage tank and following installation, he shock chlorinated the system. I advised him to begin by collecting the required 4 repeat samples (one from the original positive location, one from the operating well, one from the effluent side of the new storage tank and one elsewhere in the distribution). I also advised him to contact Katrinka Danielson at Lane County once repeat sample results were received to discuss further options for compliance. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of repeat sampling. Follow-up to be conducted by Lane County.
