Details: | SUMMARY: update filters for RO unit DETAILS: A nitrate sample was collected on 9/22/09. Due to lab issues, the result has not been submitted to DWP. Two more special nitrates were collected in November. The raw source was: 30.0 and treated was 14.5. Six new filters have been ordered. Hydrokinetics in Portland is being consulted to try and resolve the treatment issue. The current filters were cleaned just before the Sept. sample. The system uses caustic soda for pH. It was recommended they switch to a bicarbonate treatment post filtration. Once the new filters are installed, another special nitrate will be collected. System will remain on a quarterly nitrate schedule until nitrate results/treatment are consistent. ACTION NEEDED: continue working on filtration configuration |
