Details: | SUMMARY: Question about process for lifting boil water notice. DETAILS: Curt Pulson called regarding a questions about the process for lifting a boil water notice and what to do regarding a residence that has broken pipes under their trailer. Mr. Pulson indicated that the pump is back online and that the system has been flushed and a chlorine residual is being maintained in the system. He was concerned that one of the residence has broken pipes and has refused to answer messages for the pipes to be repaired. The water was shut off to the residence since the leakage from the pipes was so bad that it was draining a storage tank. The water to the residence will remain off until the pipes are repaired. The Best Management Practices for Service Outages Due to Reduced Pressure Events was reviewed with Mr. Pulson and it was explained that the next step is for him to collect a coliform sample and demonstrate that the water is safe to drink. A copy of the BMP was provided to the water system by email. ACTION NEEDED: Collect coliform sample and call Mark Edington of the Columbia County Environmental Health Dept. with results. |
