Details: | SUMMARY: Well Water Supply Problems/System Consolidation DETAILS: System is a small Community system located within the City of Shady Cove. The system is a groundwater system supplying 70 people through 21 connections. The primary source of water for the system is a well. HBH was contacted by Roy Stuart to assist the system with the possible consolidation of several water systems in North Shady Cove. The City has no public water system. Rather, residences and businesses are served either through small water systems of private wells. The water systems in North Shady Cove have experienced many problems with quality and quality. The well at the system has “run dry” a few times, causing the water system to have water hauled in. A surface water treatment plant is being completed by Premiere West Bank as part of a bankrupt development that included “Shady Cove WW”. An intake on the Rogue River and some piping is already completed. The bank is exploring its options regarding the future of the water system. Scott Curry with DWP recommended that the small community water systems contact HBH for assistance with this possible consolidation. HBH discussed well issues with Mr. Stuart and attended between several water systems and other interested parties. Topics of discussion included possible financing options, water system planning and water system structure. HBH attended follow-up meeting between water systems, and other interested parties. In addition, HBH began assistance with system preparation of SDWRLF Letter of Interest for system consolidation. ACTION NEEDED: HBH to provide additional assistance with the exploration of consolidation. HBH also to provide assistance with the completion of the SDWRLF Letter of Interest. |
