| Details: | SUMMARY: Water Treatment Plant Control Issues DETAILS: The System owns and operates a surface water system that supplies drinking water to 170 people through 225 connections. The City has a new slow sand filter which has been experiencing control issues since construction was completed. HBH was contacted by Gary Burnett with DWP. The City of Sumpter’s water treatment plant was experiencing multiple failures due to control issues. The operator had been operating the plant by “hand” until the controls issues could be rectified. I visited the water system and along with Gary Burnett preformed electrical and control system troubleshooting and determined potential source of failure in system hardware and Rugid Brand control system. I contacted Rugid for over phone troubleshooting. I also worked with Rugid to recommend new programmer to assist City with long term maintenance of the system. While at the treatment plant site, Gary Burnett and I discussed with the operator the proper way to clean the slow sand filters. ACTION NEEDED: None needed at this time. | ||
