Details: SUMMARY: Positive repeat coliform DETAILS: 10/20/09 Samples collected. 10/21/09 Email from DWP notifying me of the Ecoli positive sample. I called Velma and discussed the situation, emailed her a public notice and advised her to distribute it tonight, gave her several phone numbers of private contractors who can shock chlorinate the system for her and explained the shock chlorination process to her. 10/22/09 Alert issued…Velma informed me that Desert Pump would be at the system this morning to shock chlorinate. 10/23/09 I tried calling Velma for an update…no answer and no voice mail. Velma called and we discussed what to do next: wait five days after there is no chlorine in the system, or actually when the chlorine residual is back to normal, and collect one or two special samples.. Collect five temporary routines in the month of November. I emailed her the links fro a chorine test kit and Sensafe test strips. 11/6/09 Left a message for Velma to call me back. 11/9/09 I left another message for Velma. 11/10/09 I drove out to campground. Charlie and Dave, maintenance managers, were onsite. They have a new Hach Chlorine Test Kit and we measured the chlorine residual: 1.2 ppm chlorine. They informed me that Eric from Grants Pass Water Lab collected five additional samples today. 11/10/09 Five temporary routines were collected and all tested negative. ACTION NEEDED: One routine sample needs to be collected in the first quarter of 2010.
