Details: SUMMARY: High nitrate levels DETAILS: I talked with Matthew at length on the issue of the nitrate level. The firm has, for 2009, been consistently testing and continues to show high nitrate levels. The firm has provided bottled water to meet the drinking needs of the workers. Discussion with the state has the system attempting to meet a list of requirements. The system is currently under enforcement for nitrates and has an extension to install a treatment system for eliminating the nitrates. I talked to Brad Daniels and he stated the state is requiring the system reduce nitrates with a filter system. Since coliforms and nitrates are a consistent problem, well construction may be an issue. A new well may eliminate both issues. ACTION NEEDED: I will follow up with onsite visit with Matthew to discuss the well construction and provide information relating to ground water influencing the well.
