Details: | SUMMARY: Response to TC + Repeat sample DETAILS: Mark called to report that repeat sample taken on 5/5/10 at 1185 Tucker Rd was total coliform present, and that this is the same site as the 5/3/10 routine total present sample. Both upstream and downstream, as well as the source sample at the spring were absent. Mark indicated concern about 1185 tucker sample tap. Tap is directly after a pressure regulator valve, and the screen pulled from prior to the sample had some residue in it - this is unlike any other sample station. We discussed that screens should be removed and taps flushed 3-5 minutes prior to sampling. I indicated that this meets condition of OAR 333-061-0036(5)(k)(B), for invalidation of the positive result, and the resultant MCL, as all other repeats and source were absent. Mark indicated Ice Fountain to turn on gas chlorinator in mid-May. I stated that plan review would be required if not done with original spring construction project, and that chlorine residual and DBP monitoring would be required. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to pursue invalidation of positive sample and MCL internally, and get back to Mark. Ice Fountain to take replacement routine sample in May, if sample is invalidated. Mark to remove sample tap from current rotation, and build another sample tap directly off main line like other sample stations for future sampling. Mark to consult with DWP prior to turning on chlorinator. DWP to ensure plan review requirements are met for chlorination (residual maintenance). | ||
