| Details: | SUMMARY: Rick Hallmark DETAILS: 6/3/10 Spoke to Bill & discussed need to post public notice to boil water which he said he had done. Told him I would mail the official document to use to PO Box 56 Broadbent, Or. He explained Klaas had gone to Calif to visit his wife 6-8 weeks ago & had not returned due to illness. Bill was not measuring NTU but did monitor & document pH, temp & Cl daily. Last readings were respectively 6.5, 49F & 0.1. He was unaware of how to meet CT requirements. Discussed need to shock chlorinate the tank & open each park faucet until he could smell chlorine. I said Id call him back with the correct chlorine strength to use. Jay MacPherson had informed him to use 10ppm for 24 hours. Spoke again to Bill 6/4/10 who said he had put a quart of bleach in the 1500 gal tank. I told him to add an additional pint and check the chlorine strength at the last connection on the system and assure 10 ppm was reached for the correct duration. He should also make sure the chlorinator was functional. He said it sounded like it was pumping but thought perhaps it had lost its prime a& did not know how to reprime it. We discussed local retailers that sold chlorinators & other systems using Cl he could ask for help. According o a tracer study with 18 minutes of contact time and yesterdays parameters an on going chlorine residual of 1.5 was needed so a target of 2.0 was suggested as the tank water slowly diluted. ACTION NEEDED: Bill said he would try and call and confirm status later in day. Take special sample after chlorine strength levels off and draw 5 temporary routine samples in July | ||
