| Details: | SUMMARY: unapproved source and filtration DETAILS: Janice called to ask about options for their water system. See letter 8/9/10. She said that Greg Beaman, the water master, said that the property has a water right to use water from the creek, but that the location is about a quarter mile upstream. Her options are to get a water rights transfer, or to deepen the well (no more than 17 feet) and try to get groundwater. I told her it was unlikely that a dug well 17 feet deep 10 feet from a creek would be groundwater. She will likely try to get a transfer. Meanwhile, she is pretty sure there is a direct intake from the creek to the dug well, so she will plan on upgrading the filtration system to LT1 standards. I sent her the list of approved filters. She also said that the previous operators were falsifying data for years and was wondering what ramifications there are for that. Since they werent required to be certified, Im not sure what we could do, but I will look into it. We also discussed the plan for compliance. Janice will look into filters and get an idea of timelines, and get back to me. We will come up with an informal compliance schedule. ACTION NEEDED: stay tuned. | ||
