Details: | SUMMARY: Tracer Study Preliminary Visit Follow Up DETAILS: DWP conducted a water system survey in March 2010 and required that a CT study shall be conducted. System requested assistance for HBH to conduct the study. I met with Ned to conduct a pre tracer study inspection to verify what equipment was installed, chlorine injection system, sample taps, computer tracking/recording capability, etc. The two contact chambers do not have an effluent meter so peak flow will have to be determined another way. I have requested production records and daily reservoir levels in an attempt to evaluate daily demand. I recommended that the small pump station in the WTP have flow measurement and data storage capabilities so daily usage could be determined without installing a flow meter on the 2 reservoirs. The reservoir levels can be measured and data stored. I assisted Ned in preparing a letter to Scott Curry for approval of flow usage plan. WTP production to small pump station and reservoir level tracking could be used to calculate daily usage. Scott Curry accepted the proposal and Ned will contract work to be completed. ACTION NEEDED: Determine what peak demand is for the system during August and Early September and conduct tracer study in the fall. |
