Details: | SUMMARY: Responded to sampling question DETAILS: Samantha Carter called to report that they have two wells-- well #1 is used year round and well #2 is used in addition to well #1 starting in June due to increased demand. She took a water sample to Analytical Labs to be tested for coliform bacteria and the lab questioned which well the sample was from. She says that both well are in line and that the sample is representative of both wells. I spoke with Tom Patee with the DHS-DWP and he indicated that well #1 (AA) is the only well they have listed for assessment monitoring and that both of the wells are listed as seasonal. They need to take a sample from well #1 only and indicate that they should have a sample tap at each well. I called Samantha back and let her know that they should have a sample tap at each well. I called Samantha back and let her know that a sample needs to be obtained from well #1only by turning off well # 2 and allowing well # 1 to run long enough to be sure that the sample is from well # 1 only (as per Toms instructions) and submit it to the lab. She does not know if there is a sampling tap at each well. ACTION NEEDED: Take a sample from well #1 described above and determine if each well has a sampling tap. |
