Details: SUMMARY: Nitrate at 10.6 ppm DETAILS: Spoke to Paul and Amy parmenter. Amy stated that because a confirmation sample was not taken in 24 hours a public notice is required. The template was electronically sent to Paul 11/23. Paul was informed the Portland office had noticed me that he was sampling at the source and not the entry point. Paul was instructed to change from now on. A confirmation sample will be submitted 11/24. School is not in session 11/25 and I am on furlough so results will not be known until 11/29. If average of the 2 samples is above the MCL of 10 then a public notice would be required. The MCL template for nitrate was also forwarded to Paul and he was informed if an MCL violation occurs there is the possibility that treatment would need to be installed for nitrate removal. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results and keep in touch with Amy Parmenter.
