Details: | SUMMARY: Cartridge Filter Troubleshooting DETAILS: The system owns and operates a small water system that pulls water from Davis Creek and treats the water to comply with the LT1. Treatment is achieved through Strainrite bag filters with post chlorination. The water is them pumped up to a 5,000 gallon water storage tank, from here the water gravity feeds back down to the primary residence and school. HBH was contacted by Coos County and the school to provide assistance with the operation and/or reconfiguration of the water treatment plant. During normal operation, the treatment plant is able to produce water for only one week, then the pressure loss in the Strainrite Filters becomes such that water cannot be delivered to the tank at the top of the hill. I met with operator at water treatment facility to inspect the installation and to discuss the raw water quality. I researched the installation of the cartridges and any available raw water quality data and coordinated with DWP staff regarding the facility. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to work with school to develop solution to their water treatment needs. |
