Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on SWTR compliance DETAILS: Jim and I discussed SWTR compliance at Midland. We reviewed HBHs recent site visit report and discussed calculating contact times, based on observed peak hourly demand flows every day, to reflect worst case conditions for that day, rather than using the summertime absolute highest flow year round. Midland will appropriately convert total 24-hour flows to peak hourly accounting for the excessive leakage. Discussed methodology for determining peak hourly demand flows with Jim. Jim also indicated that the 42,000 gallon storage tank will be kept at a minimum storage volume of half full. Also I provided Jim with template public notices for exceeding monthly NTU limit (< 0.3 95 % of time) in Dec and not meeting CTs in Dec and Jan. ACTION NEEDED: Jim to write peak hourly demand flow every day on monthly SWTR form from here on out, and notify DWP right away if tank volume drops below half full, or CTs not being met, or turbidity spikes above 0.3 NTU. DWP to continue to support Midland as Jim is operating plant during period until they find a certified operator. |
