Details: | SUMMARY: Reviewed intake structures DETAILS: The spring box lid remains unsealed, even though Anderson Mt. Spring was informed in Summer 2010 that a seal is needed. Crickets were observed inside the spring box. Anderson Mt. Spring said the service provider was working on a metal replacement. Also, the plastic box remains in the stream downgradient even though its removal was directed in Summer 2010. The plastic box has piping that allows surface water to enter the pipe from the spring. Anderson Mt. Spring said the stand pipe open to the atmosphere at the plastic box was necessary to keep flow from the spring going. They were informed to seal the lower branch of that pipe which is open to the surface water. If that seal results in insufficient flow from the spring, then the water system has a supply quantity problem. ACTION NEEDED: Issue an administrative order to seal the spring box and remove the conduit of surface water into the system. |
