Details: | SUMMARY: Tracer Study Preliminary Visit #4 DETAILS: DWP conducted a water system survey in March 2010 and required that a CT study be conducted. System requested assistance from HBH to conduct the study. PLC modification is necessary in order to track and store flow and usage data. Jeff Bruce has been working on modifying the PLC to track flow data and problems have arisen to track gpm flow with existing PLC and flow instrumentation. On Feb 28, I met with Ned Dausel to collect data from PLC update that tracks and stores flow data for use in the upcoming tracer study. My intent was to collect the data and meet with Scott Curry later that day to discuss the upcoming tracer study protocol and establish flow level for the study based on data from the system. Upon arrival, the data was not available and after several hours we were finally able to retrieve it and print some of it out for review. Unfortunately the data is stored in an Access database that will not allow separate access for printing. The 2 months of desired data would have to be printed along with all of the daily WTP data on 540 pages, an impossible task for the WTP printer. I was able to obtain 60 pages of data or around 7 days or flow records. I asked Ned to email or mail the remaining data on a stick drive to me to review. I contacted Scott Curry and made arrangements to reconvene at a later date in person or by phone. I conducted a preliminary review of flow data to determine water usage levels and if the program is working as desired for the study. The tracking appears to be working as explained by Jeff Bruce, design engineer, but more information will be needed to assure this. ACTION NEEDED: Await the new data to be submitted by Ned, then discuss with Scott Curry, and conduct tracer study. |
