Details: | SUMMARY: Response to high turbidity values DETAILS: Bob and I spoke about the 1-2 NTU values observed on 7/26 and 7/27 that were taken at the port located after 50,000 storage tank, carbon filter and 600 gallon hydropneumatic tank. I explained that filter effluent turbidity values need to be taken right after filter prior to any storage and that these NTU values after storage were not to be used to assess filter performance and consideration with the turbidity MCL. I explained that these high values are reflective of random events in distribution and should not be used for MCL compliance and possible boil water notice. I instructed Bob to immediately install sample port right after filters to measure combined effluent turbidity. Bob will install combined port prior to storage. In interim, PGE will meaure and record highest of the four individual filter effluent readings on monthly form reported to DWP. ACTION NEEDED: PGE to inform DWP when change to combined filter effluent sample port is made. DWP to provide support to Columbia County and system to address SWTR requirements. |
