Details: SUMMARY: Manganese Removal DETAILS: The Heceta WD pulls water from Clear Lake. Clear Lake is a natural source of elevated levels of Manganese. This is especially troublesome when the lake turns over seasonally. Manganese levels at some points in the distribution system are at levels exceeding the EPA secondary standard. In addition, the Manganese is creating a significant chlorine demand. HBH was contacted by the District to provide assistance with methods for reducing levels of Manganese in the treated water. HBH completed the report detailing possible Manganese removal technologies for the system. ACTION NEEDED: None needed
