| Details: | SUMMARY: Alert for arsenic and antimony DETAILS: System is in the process of switching over from its current water source to a different well system. Both the state and the LCPH were aware of the arsenic and antimony issue for the well before these test results came back. The well was tested in 2007 and found to have high arsenic and antimony at that time as well. For this reason this well had not been used. However, because the state no longer regulates this system for arsenic and antimony the system is going ahead with plans to use this well in spite of these chemicals. This is also coming at the recommendation of the state. The system is aware of these alerts and is presently looking at installing treatment options for arsenic as well the staff is aware and for the staff they are using only bottled water. Additionally, the staff has been provided with information regarding the health effects of these two chemicals. ACTION NEEDED: On going. | ||
