| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water Notice - Site Visit DETAILS: I stopped in to pick up a copy of the boil water notice that was to be posted at the store. No notices were posted so I explained to him that the notices need to be posted at the sink and that no water was to be used for potable use. I asked Ludek if he had received the results of the coliform sampling this week and he said no. I checked on the pressure differential for the filter, which was registering 2 to 3 psid (30 psi pre and 32-33 post). The UV indicator still indicated that it was not functioning. We removed the sensor and cleaned it, removing some deposits that were on it. We hooked up the UV unit and it indicated that it was working. I left the store and contacted James Nusrala who contaced Alexin about the results. They reported that they had not taken any samples that week. I drove to the public health lab in Hillsboro, picked up 5 sample bottles and returned to Hamlet to take a sample from the sink in the eating area and at a sample post filtration, just before the UV unit (no raw water sample tap was apparent). I was gone from Hamlet for about 2 hours and during that time the UV indicator was flashing red indicating that it was not working properly. System is still on a boil notice until the UV unit is proven to work reliably and coliform is absent in sampling. ACTION NEEDED: Awaiting results of samples taken at 4 PM on Sept 8th (I called the lab on the 9th and they said that they would not be ready until the 10th - I had left them my cell number to call me with the results, however, they will only call if the results are positive). Dept of Ag to continue follow-up. | ||
