| Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic Technical Assistance DETAILS: Paul contacted me requesting assistance regarding elevated arsenic levels in past samples at the school. He was informed by a SD employee that an arsenic sample had exceeded the MCL several years ago and that was the reason for the RO treatment installation in 2003/4. He collected a sample on 6/17/11, and the results were 13.1 ppb. He reported the results to Scott Kruger, BCEHD, who sent the information to DWP staff in Springfield for assistance. I met with Paul, Tim Trivett and Kim Patten, SD staff, and reviewed the water system file and test results. Paul informed me the sample was a raw sample collected at the wellhead and he had failed to inform Scott Kruger. I had several email interactions with Scott and DWP staff regarding this and suggested that samples be collected at EP and in the distribution system since an iron removal system was already in place and is similar technology to arsenic treatment considered BAT. Paul stated that he would collect samples the first week of August at post treatment sites. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results and determined follow up action at that time. | ||
