| Details: | SUMMARY: Plan review field visit DETAILS: Field visit with Karl Ekstrom, Corbey Boatwright (Boatwright Engineering), Jason Borzy (Polk County HD) and contractors. Karl asked for a meeting with engineer/state/county re: spring #2 reconstruction (PR# 72-2011). June 2, 2011 field visit. Conditional approval letter noted project included 40 mil high density intake liner, new 6” perf pipe, replacement of existing collection barrel with a new 48” manhole and a raw sample tap. Conditions included coliform test, diversion ditch and yield information. Prior to going to the springs, we met at the Water Association’s office to review the plans. Corbey and Karl noted that there were times of the year where flow to a sample tap would be difficult to achieve since the sample tap gets tapped into the side of the pipe, not the bottom and the flow of the main line pipe can less than half full. It could be difficult to get a good coliform sample out of such a sample tap. Field visit showed difficulties of the terrain. Agreed with Corbey that sample taps over the main lines seemed like an acceptable solution. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. | ||
