| Details: | SUMMARY: Status of old (1973) well - Shady Rest MP DETAILS: Spoke to Brian of WRDs Lakeview office regarding old well (UMAT 3375), which is no longer used and disconnected from system. Brian unable to document that old well was ever formally abandoned by checking the two start cards for well-start cards initiated around 1990-time old well replaced w/ new well. I explained that per my 10/6/11 survey, I noted that well casing appeared sealed up to about 2 feet below grade. DWP files document new well (UMAT 5441/5456) was installed as the corrective action for Nitrate problem with old well - per formal enforcement for system. I referred Brian to data on-line which had indicated updated nitrate and coliform results for system . Per Brians suggestion, no abandonment records available in WRD Pendleton office, when checked subsequent to 10/20. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to photograph and better document material (seal) inside casing of old well this fall/winter, and coordinate with DWP hydrogeologist and WRD as determined to be necessary afterward. | ||
